Some people have what I’ve started calling an empty chair experience. They were there. They watched it happen. They can describe it in the right order with the right vocabulary. They just weren’t the ones doing the work, and most of the time nobody ever checks. I checked once, in an interview, and the whole thing came apart in about ninety seconds.
