Your maintenance bonus plan is doing exactly what you designed it to do. That's the problem. You designed it to push hard on the supervisor and time-shift the consequences. You didn't write it down that way. You wrote it down as "alignment." But the structure does what the structure does, and the structure is teaching your supervisor to bleed the asset you hired him to protect.
